It's a whole spectrum—from "Did I just feel something?" to "Why am I emotionally and physically in a blender?" Fun times, right?

In case you're wondering if you are - or ever suffered one of these little "gifts", I will give you the most common seven signs that you may have suffered a psychic attack and what you can do to protect yourself. It's important to be aware of these signs, as it allows you to take steps to protect yourself and seek out professional help if necessary. So, if you suspect that you may have been a victim of a psychic attack, read on to learn more about how to identify and overcome these negative energies.

  1. Sudden and intense feelings of anxiety or fear: A psychic attack can cause sudden and intense feelings of anxiety or fear, even if there is no apparent reason for these feelings.

  2. Physical symptoms: A psychic attack can manifest as physical symptoms such as headaches, fatigue, stomach aches, or trouble sleeping. Remember, these ailments will seem to just show up, and you won't have any obvious reason for them. Always be sure to check with your doctor first to eliminate any illnesses.

  3. Constant negative thoughts: A psychic attack can cause a constant stream of negative thoughts, making it difficult to think positively or focus on daily tasks. You might notice that "all of a sudden," you don't find any pleasure or joy in things that are normally fun for you. Also, this lack of joy may start suddenly and go on for a significant period of time. Again, it's important to check in with your doctor or therapist to eliminate any more explainable reasons for a change like this.

  4. Unexpected mood changes: A psychic attack can cause unexpected mood changes, such as sudden bouts of anger, sadness, or irritability. These mood changes will be sudden and have "no apparent reason".

  5. Difficulty in communicating: While this one may seem off, a sign of a psychic attack can make it difficult to communicate effectively, whether it's with friends, family, or colleagues. Not only will you feel tongue-tied, but you may also find that the phone is always busy, text messages aren't sending, or when you say things, it is taken out of context.

  6. A sense of being watched or followed: A psychic attack can give you the sense of being watched or followed, even when you are alone. This is SUPER CREEPY! But trust me when I tell you if you notice a feeling of being watched or like there is someone or something in the room with you and you can't see it, don't ignore it. You aren't imagining it, and you aren't crazy. If this starts to happen, be sure to note when and where it seems to occur. see if you can spot a pattern attached to when this feeling comes on. It is important cause if you choose to get help, the person assisting you will use that information when deciding how to deal with this kind of attack.

  7. Unusual or vivid dreams: A psychic attack can cause unusual or vivid dreams, which may be disturbing or unsettling. I've experienced this firsthand. I'm actually a very vivid dreamer normally, but when this happened to me, the content of the dreams I was having became suddenly terrifying and deeply disturbing. The worst part was that I would wake up feeling totally creeped out, and that feeling would last all day long, and I just couldn't shake it. I didn't really think this would be part of a psychic attack, but once I figured out that it was and took the appropriate steps, they stopped entirely.

If you find yourself entangled in a cobweb of any of these cryptic cues, there might just be a shadow of a psychic attack looming ominously over you. Fear not, my dear Mystic! If you believe you are experiencing an attack, the darling, call up your inner warrior and parry with protective maneuvers. And remember, in the grand scheme of things, it's never a bad idea to call in the cavalry of professional help.

However, if you think you want to try and handle these goopy gremlins on your own, here are a few things you can try. -

  • Visualize a protective shield around you: One of the most effective ways to keep yourself psychically protected is to visualize a protective shield around you. This shield can be made of any material that feels protective to you, such as a bubble, a wall, or a cloak. Imagine this shield surrounding you and blocking any negative energy or entities from entering your space. If you are a Reiki practitioner, you can also use the power of Reiki symbols to reinforce the shield around you!

  • Use crystals and stones: Crystals and gemstones have been used for centuries to protect against negative energy. Some popular stones for psychic protection include black tourmaline, obsidian, hematite, snowflake obsidian, smoky quartz, pyrite and selenite. You can carry these stones with you, place them around your home, or wear them as jewelry. There are many more options, but these are my favourites.

  • Cleanse your space: Regularly cleaning and clearing your space can help to remove any negative energy that may be present. This is a big one! You would be surprised how much regular cleansing can do. You can do this by burning sage, palo santo, or incense or by using a salt lamp. You can also use a singing bowl or chimes to clear the energy in your space. You can even use drumming, changing and prayer to help keep your space clean and clear of nasty energies.

  • Ground and center yourself: Grounding and centring yourself is essential for psychic protection. This can be done by taking deep breaths, walking, or meditating. When you are grounded and centred, you can better tune into your intuition and identify when negative energy is present.

  • Identify the signs of a psychic attack: It's important to be able to identify when you have suffered from a psychic attack so that you can take steps to protect yourself. This can be really challenging, but there are some questions you can ask yourself to determine the source of the attack. To start with - Have you pissed anyone off lately? I know that may seem pretty obvious, but here again, I would suggest that you should never underestimate how far angry or jealous people will go to make you miserable. If you can't think of anyone, then consider where you are when you notice some of the symptoms that I mentioned above. This will help you isolate the source of the attack.

  • Get professional help: If you suspect you are experiencing a psychic attack, it can be helpful to seek out the help of a professional. Look for healers or practitioners who specialize in psychic protection, such as energy healers, shamans, or psychic mediums. There are several people who do this kind of work. However, you should be very careful when selecting someone to help you. Sadly, there are some people who don't always work with integrity in this department. I recommend asking around to see if someone you know and trust has any resources for help.

Clearly, psychic attacks aren't fun, and they can happen to anyone. But, as you now know, there is lots you can do about it if it happens to you. The main thing to do is try not to freak out! Even though it may seem like the most illogical thing, think logically before jumping to conclusions. Do your due diligence and check in with your healthcare providers, therapists and or anyone else who can eliminate other sources of the above mentions. Nonetheless, if you are experiencing an attack, try some of the remedies above, and if you need to, call in help!
