  • 🧘‍♂️ Your First Self Healing

    Feeling relaxed is the number one goal for your first self healing. Let go of any ideas you have about reiki and just accept whatever happens. Find a comfortable way to sit. If you’ve done yoga before, sitting on the floor works. Otherwise try laying down somewhere comfortable. Begin with the self healing by using the hand position cheat sheet to guide you. Take as much time as you need —there’s no need to run a marathon for your first healing! Relax your body, scanning each body part. Watch your breathing. Notice each time your breath in and out. That’s it! Be gentle with yourself! As soon as you get relaxed a million thoughts of the past and future will come up. Note them merely as thoughts, and don’t get involved in them. They’ll go away soon enough. Just practice being present.

    Focus on your physical body Keep it simple! Start with a quick scan of your entire body and relax each body part as you bring it to mind. Follow your breath as you breathe in and out. Focus on any body part that is a source of discomfort. Note the sensationa you feel when you treat it with Reiki That’s it 👍

    Experiment with using the techniques you have learned as a First Degree Reiki Practitioner. Use Byosen on yourself. If you find an area that needs treatment, use one of the two reiki symbols on the area. Note how it feels.

  • 🔭 Vipassana

    The Pali word vipassana means to see clearly, and that’s exactly what we intend to do in self healing. First we calm the mind by healing the body and then we use the calm, clear mind to examine ourselves. Use the few minutes calming your mind with breathing meditation. Then it’s time to switch to vipassana. This is switching from calming to investigating. When you’re ready, start doing a biyosen scan. Begin at the top of your head. Pick an area the size of a large coin and pay attention to all of the sensations in that spot. Simply note and observe. Meet any feeling, whether it be pleasant, negative or neutral with equanimity. Continue scanning your entire body from head to toe. Treat your body with reiki using your intuition to guide you.

    Focus on spot instead of going through each of the self healing hand positions, try slot healing any area or chakra that nerds attention. Start each session with enough breathing meditation to calm your mind and then switch to body scanning You're almost there! You're doing great!

    As you practice today, work on being more sensitive to the details of your experience. Notice what sensations, thoughts or feelings surface, see how those aspects of your consciousness affect your overall wellness. As you go through the self-healing hand position keep track of where your hands are when those thoughts, feelings or sensations arrive. As your sits get longer, keep strong 💪
