Hi! You found me!

Only recently has Shungite become a crystal that people recognize as an indispensable addition to your self-care crystal collection. I often say (tho anyone who will listen) that self-care is more than just taking a bubble bath and getting some “me time” Self care goes much deeper than that. I have noticed a significant up-tick in people wanting to know which crystals they can use to heal and protect themselves.

While protection and healing is important, prevention is even better. You know the old saying - “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” well, this is exactly where Shungite comes in! Shungite is a black, lustrous, noncrystalline mineraloid. It is a fascinating stone as it consists of more than 98 weight percent carbon.

It’s journey began in Russia where it was first mined from a deposit near Shunga village, in Karelia, from where it gets its name. Because Shungite is composed mostly of pure carbon, and is also the only known natural mineral to contain fullerenes, which is a specific molecular formation of carbon, it acts as a powerful, long-lasting antioxidant. Shungite is also a great choice for those of us who spend a lot of time near the computer, are on the phone a lot or live in areas where there is a lot of electrical wires.

Shungite is my first choice as it concerns electromagnetic field (EMF) protection, purification and detoxification of the body, as well as general healing and emotional well-being. I t is highly protective shielding you from the field of manmade electromagnetic radiation or smog which is the accumulation of various electromagnetic frequencies in a single environment.

You can find Shungite plates and discs that you can place on or near your devices and you can also wear Shungite jewellery, keeping it close to you no matter what you are doing! Shungite is mined in Austria, India, Democratic Republic of Congo and Kazakhstan.
