The traditional birthstone of January, Garnet is one of the most beautiful semi-precious stones you can own. Garnet comes in several colours and the variety is stunning. Garnet species are found in many colours including red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, brown, black and colourless, with reddish shades most common. Have been used since the Bronze Age as gemstones
The word garnet comes from the 14th‑century Middle English word gernet, meaning 'dark red'. For many years though, my favourite has been the deep reddish-purple Garnets. The stone has won its fame the world over for its beauty, versatility and most certainly its spiritual and metaphysical properties. Garnet is a rather abundant stone and is found in Sri Lanka, India, Afghanistan, Brazil, Austria and the Czech Republic. People have adored Garnet for its natural ability to ground emotions by supporting the root Chakra. It is also said to assist in the recuperation of injuries. Equally, people have loved Garnet because it helps to bolster physical vitality and boost stamina.
Energetically it helps to plant one's feet firmly on the ground through helping you to create a firm link between what is tangible and what isn’t. Use Garnet when creating a plan of action to ensure that the steps you wish to take will bring real results. Garnet is an excellent stone to use for physic protection. It helps to keep you tethered to the body just enough to make it very difficult for negative energies or leaching entities to make a parasitic attachment to you. I highly recommend wearing or keeping Garnet with you if you are doing paranormal investigation or medium ship work.
